Ingrid Kent and Julie Phaxay are opening Haven Beauty Collective in Minnetonka in October. Two local multidisciplinary beauty experts who have an impressive rolodex of celebrity and corporate clients are opening a salon in Minnetonka. Julie Phaxay and Ingrid Kent expect to launch Haven Beauty Collective at 14729 Excelsior Blvd. in the Glen Lake Station strip mall in October. The salon will offer organic spray tanning, microblading, teeth whitening, hair and makeup services and include a rentable bridal lounge where brides can get gussied up before their weddings. Phaxay is a makeup and microblading artist who's worked with some notable celebrities, including Prince, Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Michelle Williams, and on Vogue editorials, nationwide Target campaigns and Saturday Night Live. Kent is a hair, makeup and spray tan artist whose work has appeared in local magazines and advertisements for Target, Best Buy, General Mills and other major companies. The pair met through their agency, Wehmann Models and Talent, and share many of the same clients. They've wanted to open a salon together for a while and feel like the Covid-19 pandemic presented them with the right opportunity to finally do it. Phaxay and Kent will lead most of the services at Haven Beauty Collective and might eventually enlist two or three more artists who would rent chairs and operate independent businesses at the salon. "In the west metro, there's not a lot of places, if any, that offer all the services we do under one roof, so that'll be exciting," Phaxay said. The duo is looking forward to providing that array of services to new and existing customers soon. "We just wanted to create a place where people come in, and they feel amazing and happy and empowered when they leave," Kent said. Amy Berg and Mary Lindell of Christianson & Co. represented the landlord in the deal, while Marshall Nguyen and Osmund Dris from Caspian Group represented Haven Beauty Collective.
